C. Stuart vigorously test all sleepwear garments to Australian/New Zealand Sleepwear Standards. Compliance Certificates are issued for each Style.

Low Fire Danger

All Low Fire Label garments comply with Flammability Standards and have been tested in line with the following categories.

Category 1

Style of garment meets flame spread requirements E.g. Under laboratory conditions, the length of time it take fabric to ignite before reaching set markers
  • Correct fabric weight
  • Correct % fibre content
  • Correct sizing on all trim details
  • Correct fabrication and sizing of all appliqués and embroideries

Category 2
  • Fit of garment meets requirements set in the sleepwear standards
  • Correct fabrication and sizing of all appliqués and embroideries
  • Correct sizing on all trim details
  • Pile fabrics must meet surface burn requirements
Category 3
  • Meets sizing requirements for all-in one garments for day or nightwear in sizes 00-2
  • Made from fabric predominantly from knitted fabric with mass less than 280 gsm
  • Has correct labelling
High Fire DangerHigh Fire Danger

Category 4

All High Fire Danger garments fit into this category 4 for any of the following reasons:
  • If fabric content is cotton, acetate or acrylic >50 % they must be < 130gsm and meet length requirements for that garment eg: Nighties
  • Frill detail over 1.5cm length
  • Quilted fabrics must meet fibre type requirements
  • If surface burn test has failed

This does not mean these garments are unsafe; it highlights the need to keep these garments away from naked flame. A typical Snugtime garment that fits into this category is the single layer cotton Snugtime Cosi Bag.
